Denia is a delightful cosmopolitan coastal town between the cities of Valencia and Alicante, on the Costa Blanca. It is a town rich in culture and history reflected in its stunning ancient architecture, but also a world class beach resort, perfect to take a Spanish course while enjoying a Holiday on the Mediterranean coast of Spain!
The area's highlight is the perfect weather, featuring 322 days of sun throughout the year with average temperatures of 65ºF/22ºC. Its beaches are the major tourist attraction due to their European Blue Flag Awards received every year, and to their absolute cleanliness and safety.
But Denia offers much more than just beach and sun. On the cultural side, the buildings are a permanent monument to ancient civilizations such as the Iberian, Carthaginian, Roman, Arab, and Christian, which have all left their mark here. The city’s focal point is the impressive 16th century castle, dominating the town from a height of 174ft/58mts! Moorish fortress named the "eagles nest" is also another of Spain's main attractions, as well as the Mount Mongo National Park home to various species of flora and fauna.
When walking through the town, you can see the very old district by the port where you can find the fish market. Denia is very popular for its fine cuisine, and the fact that it is a fishing town clearly influenced the delicious dishes of the area! At the old fishermen's quarter, delightful cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings are preserved, but nearby you'll find a modern yacht marina and the ferry terminal serving the Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca and Formentera.
