Spanish in Valencia
Valencia is one of the best places to learn Spanish and live a great experience while in Spain. The city is situated in the centre of the east coast of Spain. It is a cosmopolitan, open plane city, with a population of about one million, making it the third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona.
On the other hand Valencia has a long history (more than 2000 years), dating back to the Greeks and Phoenicians, although it was the Romans and Muslims who left their mark on the city. Valencia’s past is reflected in every building and street you pass, when strolling around the city.
Valencia boasts an incredible climate, where the summer lasts for two months, winter is just a few weeks long and a spring-like climate persists throughout the rest of the year, which means that the people love spending time in the street, on the terraces and in the open air. The average annual temperature of Valencia is 17º C (63º F). However, in the daytime in the middle of winter, temperatures can often reach 22º C (72º F).
Valencia is situated at the Mediterranean, which softens its climate, turning the beaches of fine white sand and the city centre into a natural suntrap throughout the year.
Why Valencia?
Valencia is a modern and exciting city which nevertheless keeps its historical touch. The city is an architectural melting pot, which testifies the cultural mix of the Valencian people, and gives the city an atmosphere that is open to both new cultures and old customs; this makes it the best place to learn Spanish in Spain.
