Spanish Language School in Madrid, Spain
A large choice of accommodation options are available (student apartments, student residence, home stay, apartment and hotel / guesthouse) all well located (mainly in the center of the city).
Student Apartment:
They are available throughout the year; located in the city center (average 10 min. walking distance to the school); you share the apartment with other international students. There are 3-9 rooms per apartment and you can choose between a single or a shared room. The average age of the students is between 19 and 35 years old. All rooms are furnished with a bed and a wardrobe and students are able to receive phone calls (if available). Visitors are welcome during day-time and the accommodations provide shared bathrooms and washing machine, communal kitchen. Students have their own keys and there is no curfew. Smoking is not allowed in communal areas, all bills (apart from telephone) are included in the prices and bed linen and blankets are provided (not towels)
Student Residence:
This option is available between July and September. They are also located in the city center (average 15-20 min walking distance to the school) and you will be sharing with international students. You can choose either a single or shared room. The average age of the students is between 16 and 25 years old. All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk and wardrobe and Wi-Fi internet access is also available. There are shared bathrooms and a laundry service and bed and breakfast or full board options are available. Visitors are welcome during the day-time, you will be given your own key, there is no curfew and there is 24 hour security of the property. Smoking is not permitted in communal areas.
Home Stay:
This option is available all year round. These are located in the city center (average 10 min walking distance to the school). This option is offered by families living in Madrid, and therefore the rules concerning smoking, visitors and use of the phone are at the owner's discretion. Double rooms are rarely available and there may be other students hosted in the same apartment. The students who choose this option are usually between 21 and 35 years old. There will be a shared kitchen, bathroom and washing machine; although in some cases a private bathroom is available. You will be given your own key, all bills (apart from telephone) are included in the price and bed linen and blankets are provided (not towels).
Apartment:
If you would like to have your own space and do not wish to share facilities etc with other people, you can rent your own apartment. The recommended stay is 1 month. A deposit of 1 month's rent has to be paid, which will be returned at the end of the stay if the apartment is left in the agreed conditions. These are located in the city center with an average of 10 min walking distance to the school, and also in neighborhoods a little further out with an average of 15-30 minutes travel on public transport. These apartments have between 1 and 3 rooms, fully furnished, plus an equipped kitchen and bathroom. Some apartments also have air conditioning, internet connection and DVD and Hi-Fi equipment. All bills apart from the telephone are included in the price. Most apartments however do not have a telephone. Bed linen and blankets are provided (no towels).
Hotels and Guesthouses:
Madrid offers a huge range of hotels and hostels for every taste and budget. Popular "pensiones" (small hotels run by families) offer a good service for a reasonable price. In you are under 26; a good option is a youth hostel, where you can even use a kitchen to prepare your food.
This option is highly recommend for stays under 2 weeks. We will help you find the hotel or hostel that best suits your personal needs and budget.
If you plan to come during the summer months, please tell us well in advance as it can be difficult to find free rooms at this busy time.
Youth hostels are also an excellent cheap option, in particular for students under 26. In most of these there are only shared rooms (of up to 6 people) but in some places single rooms are available. There are shared kitchens and bathrooms and breakfast is generally included in the price. Bed linen and blankets are provided and towels are available on request.
