Extra Curricular Activities

Guadalajara

The school organizes weekly cultural and social activities in order to make the stay in Malaga more beneficial and so that the students can get to know each other.

You are welcome to join on and off campus activities along with your Spanish program.

On campus activities (included in the price of all courses)

  • Dance classes: we offer Flamenco (twice a week) and Salsa (once a week) in our dance studio. (These are not to be confused with our dance courses when you have 2 lessons per day of dance).
  • Cultural talks: we give weekly talks on topics such as: flamenco, bull fighting, Spanish wines, gastronomy, the Moorish cultural influence etc
  • Parties: there is a welcome cocktail for all new students and a enjoy with live music about once every 3 weeks.
  • Theme evenings*: Moroccan evenings, flamenco, Roman, Arabic, Japanese and more.
  • Music: from time to time we arrange concerts which can range from classical and flamenco to pop and rock.
  • Film evenings: once a week we present a film in Spanish with an introduction about the film.
  • Cookery: we offer occasional classes in how to prepare classic Spanish dishes such as paella or tortilla.

Note: there may at times be a small charge to cover some of the costs of some events

Off campus activities

Students who choose to come to Malaga usually want to get to know the city itself, the surrounding countryside, other local places of interest and to find out about the people, their customs and lifestyles. Our activities staff helps organize events which will help you do this.

In Málaga:

  • Orientation tour of the historic centre: first day of all courses - included in fees.
  • Visits to: the Cathedral, Alcazaba (Arabic Palace), Gibralfaro Castle
  • Museum tours: Picasso Gallery, CAC gallery, Arts & Crafts museum
  • Tapas bar tours
  • Treasure hunts
  • Concerts

Out of Málaga:

  • Full day tours to: Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda ...
  • Weekends in Morocco
  • Half-day tours to: Frigiliana/nerja, the “wine route”, the “olive oil route” etc
  • Occasional visits to village fairs
  • Half and full-day adventure tours: pot-holing, rock climbing, canoeing etc
