Our Spanish Instructors

Rodrigo Arias

Rodrigo has a degree in Literature and a Masters in Mexican Literature. He has also studied English, French and German. He has written several articles, stories and poetry, for specialty magazines in the local area. Since 2003 he worked as lecturer for Jalisco College. Rodrigo also teaches guitar lessons for which he has won critical praise at both the regional and national levels. He has written the book entitled “Introduction to Art” published for the Intermediate Education Department at the University of Guadalajara. Also among his accomplishments is his own CD of compositions called: “Contemporary Music for Guitar: Writers from Jalisco” which was made to support the State Foundation of Arts and Culture.

Annabel Arriaga

Annabel has a degree in Spanish Humanities and Literature from the University of Guadalajara and has studied Literature, Drama and Theater at UNAM. She has 15 years of experience in the educational field including teaching courses in Spelling, Writing Composition, and Speed Reading. She has also worked as public director for such fine institutions as the Museum of Periodicals and Graphic Arts, U of G, SCT, the Civil Hospital and SEPOMEX. Other teaching experiences include working at CEDI College as professor specializing in reading, writing, literature and philosophy. Annabel has also published three editorial textbooks. Currently she also teaches Theater Arts and Acting at the GuionCAAVSchool.

Octavio Ledesma

Octavio initially started his career studying Theology and later he obtained a degree in Philosophy from UNIVA. He progressed with a Masters degree in Education at the Institute of Educational Sciences in Michoacan. All of his professional experience has been as a teacher of several different levels and subjects all the way from students of primary school age to students in university. During his time in the seminary he took many courses including ones in the social sciences, humanities and education. Octavio has also collaborated in quarterly periodical publications as well as weekly regional periodical publications. Since November 2004 he has worked at IMAC Spanish Language Programs as an instructor of a second language covering all levels and also working as a Spanish instructor for specific purposes.

Mildred Arce

Mildred has a degree in Spanish Literature. She has also completed studies in French and German language. She was worked as an advisor at the Language Learning Center for the Economics Department at the University of Guadalajara. Mildred also completed courses in Film Appreciation and Basic Black and White Photography. Nowadays she works in Spanish education for all levels. She has been working for IMAC Spanish Language Programs since 2005.

Jesus Arredondo

Jesus obtained a degree in Biology from the Autonoma University of Guadalajara. From 1988 to 1991 he had experience working in the field of education at the Guadalajara Zoo. From 1991 to 1996 he was a professor of Biology and Chemistry at various private institutions teaching university level pupils. Jesus successfully completed courses in Narrative, Literature Analysis, and Spanish Grammar at “Casa Museo Lopez Portillo” in 1996-1997. His experience also includes being editor and chief of a magazine from 1997 to 1998. More recently, he worked as a Spanish professor for a business called SECADE educating adult students. He has been working here at IMAC Spanish Language Programs as a Spanish instructor since 2001. Also to his credit, he has published an ecological novel called “Shaalhn” which is published on the internet.

Elba Noemi Silva Guerrero

Elba studied at the Pan-American University specializing in the art and science of teaching. Her experience has been in many different areas including: as a business language instructor for IBM Corporation Mexico, as an occupational therapist, as an educational consultant, and also for 10 years in primary education as both teacher and therapist. These days, she teaches the Spanish language and mathematics to both adults and children. Among her previous studies, she obtained a diploma at UNIVA in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and a ISO 9000 certification from IBM Mexico.

Francisco Becerra

Francisco studied at Normal Superior of Jalisco and obtained a degree in Secondary Education specializing in Spanish. Also to his credit is a diploma in the Psychology of Teaching at the Teacher’s College of the State of Jalisco, as well as, a Certificate in Computer Technology. Along with all his certifications and diplomas Francisco adds to these a course of the study of Innovations in Education at UNITEC. (The University of Technology of Mexico) He has been working as a Spanish teacher at IMAC Spanish Language Programs for two years.

Lisandra Acosta

Lisandra started her career in Spanish Literature at the University of Guadalajara. She has developed as a professor teaching intermediate levels inside the area of language and communication at the University of Specialties where she taught classes in Spanish, Literature and Linguistics. Other experience includes working as an assistant of investigations at the Center of Investigations and Higher Learning in the Department of Social Anthropology. (CIESAS) As a Spanish language instructor; she has gained most of her development and experience at IMAC Spanish Language Programs where she started working in 2001.Lisandra has participated and successfully completed many courses such as: a Diploma in the Science of Education and another Diploma in the Psychology of Education from the College of Languages of the State of Jalisco. Her other achievements include her involvement in organizing The International Book Fair for the University of Veracruz. Educationally she was a member of the congress at the Native Children’s Seminary UrbanSchool organized by the Iberoamericana and CIESAS in Mexico City. The conference lectured about the linguistic attitudes of native students in a bicultural school in the state of Jalisco.

Marisol Navarro

Marisol graduated from the Normal Superior School of Jalisco with a degree in Secondary Education specializing in Spanish Language. Her thesis entitled, “Do everything on the horizon to learn independently”, was selected for the first publication of documental guides for the Secretariat of Education of Mexico. Marisol has experience teaching in public secondary schools specializing in Spanish. She also has worked instructing courses in literature and writing for intermediate levels. She has participated in several theatrical, cultural events and worked as lecturer representing the Secretary of Education internationally at the International Book Fair. She possesses an undeniable natural ability for the educational field.

Miriam Nuñez

After graduating with a degree in Spanish language from the University of Guadalajara (1998-2002) Miriam immediately worked in radio production for XEJB FM Radio and Television Company for an on-air literature program. Her other work experience included instructing intermediate level Spanish Language classes at the College of the Republic of Mexico and at the UTEG Campus Zapopan. She also worked for the institution called “Logaritmo W” preparing students for University of Guadalajara entrance examinations. From June 2006 till now she has been working here at IMAC Spanish Language Programs, as a Spanish instructor.
