Beware of schools which lack external accreditation and monitoring.

Our school has undergone the most stringent inspections in order to meet accreditation criteria by the following international bodies:

  • Instituto Cervantes/The Ministry for Education of Spain since June 2009
  • The Secretary of Education of Mexico since 1977
  • DELE testing Center since January 2009
  • Bildungsurlaub accredited in eight German federal states
  • CENNI: National Language Level Certification by the government of Mexico, only school in Mexico to have received this coveted distinction.

Unlike other schools it is not what we say, it is what our credentials certify!

Our Spanish language programs in Guadalajara are designed to meet the students' schedule. We understand that many people come to study Spanish while on vacation in Mexico, and we are very interested in providing them with the most flexible opportunity for learning the Spanish language. Our intensive Spanish group classes begin every Monday of the year except during National, Christmas and Easter holidays. Private tutoring may begin at any time and you may choose the amount of hours/days, you wish to take. Credits may be earned.

National School Holidays:

  • Christmas Vacation
    December 17, 2017 to January 1, 2018.
  • Easter Holiday
    March 25 to April 1, 2018.
  • January (1) New Year's Day
  • First Monday of February: Constitution Day
  • Third Monday of March: Benito Juarez Birthday
  • May (1) Labor Day
  • September (16) Independence Day
  • October (12) Columbus Day
  • Third Monday of November: Revolution of 1910

Daily Class Schedule

9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Students are involved in direct Spanish language instruction with a native instructor. All areas of Spanish language fluency are developed: reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

11:00 AM to 11:15 AM
Students go to break.

11:15 AM to 1:00 PM
Intensive Spanish classes with your instructor resume.

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
You will have the opportunity to participate in a language and cultural exchange group, which will allow you to practice your new language skills with native Spanish speaking students in a relaxed, informal setting, therefore adding an additional hour of instruction per day, thus making it 5 hours per day. This class is supervised by an instructor every afternoon, and is free of charge;

In addition to the classroom instruction, you have unlimited access to our Multimedia Lab (email, Internet, interactive Spanish programs) free of charge. You will be encouraged to maximize your learning by attending our Multimedia Lab an additional hour daily, though you may use the Multimedia Lab for as long as you wish during school hours. This is a service which will allow you to reinforce the skill areas of pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing. This brings your number of hours to 30 weekly (25 hours of teacher instruction and a recommended minimum 5 hours of free Multimedia lab time).

Accommodation not included in our course fees. These are the housing options we offer: home-stay program, hostels, posadas (Inns), hotels and apartments. Go to our Accommodations page to see more details and check on prices.

NOTE: Please keep in mind; schools that offer what seems like many class hours per day. A great price may be taking into account all the time when there is a teacher present in an activity which may not always involve language learning. The class hours that we offer, ALL involve formal learning under a structured program with students at your same group level and your official teacher, PLUS the varied activities, where an instructor is also present and our students enjoy at no cost. Want to save money? Check the total prices at your school. Is a daily and structured conversation class free? What about a media lab with the latest and greatest software aids? Does your school provide cultural exchanges and movies free of charge? Some schools do not charge for registration, but in the end, you pay more in higher prices, airport pick up, homestay placement and changing fees, rescheduling fees, etc. Also, is your school accredited and socially responsible?

Tips to save money!

Rent Your Textbook. Save Money!!

Here are a couple of reasons why renting a book is a great savings idea:

  • If you decide not to pursue your Spanish language classes, you could return it.
  • You do not have to spend extra money when you advance to the next level by purchasing new books. You may rent the next books out with the same deposit when returning the previous book.
  • More importantly, certain schools boast that they do not charge for learning material (books). However, what some of them do is photo copy the book(s) which cheats the author, as well as being copyright infringement. This is illegal and against publisher’s policies. Sign up at IMAC. Get the best instruction and save money.

Now you can save a bundle by simply putting down a deposit of the textbook’s cost, $33.00 USD.

When you return the book- in mint condition- (not written, torn or worn out) you will get back $28.00 USD. This means only a $5.00 USD cost for the use of original materials for as long as your course lasts. If you decide to keep the book, then the deposit will cover the cost of the book.

What makes IMAC Spanish Language Programs different from other providers:

  • We are not just another language school. We count with over forty years of experience, we are the only language school in our region (and perhaps the only one in Mexico) with official accreditation for both DELE testing from The Ministry for Education of Spain and The Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language from The Secretary of Education of Mexico. Moreover, our organization has been granted status as a Socially Responsible Institution. To our knowledge, we are the only language school in Mexico to have received this coveted award. High academic standards are obviously high while our classes are yet filled with enjoyable and fun activities. The Instituto Cervantes is a public organism based in Spain and commissioned with regulating and standardizing the instruction of Spanish worldwide. With presence in 4 continents, this organization admits and recognizes only institutions, like ours, which are committed to quality, efficiency, and above all excellence in the instruction of the Spanish language.
  • IMAC Spanish Language Programs has been an accredited educational institute since 1976. We are proud members of several leading industry organizations such as:
ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents),
ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organizations),
AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese),
TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages),
ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) and
AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) among others.
  • Cultural exchange programs with our more than 2000+ English students.
  • We have been designated as a Socially Responsible Company. This honor was given by (Mexican Center for Philanthropy) for working with orphans, workshops for family values, and other philanthropic activities.
  • You are strongly encouraged to maximize your learning by attending our Conversation class and Multimedia Lab an additional 2 hours daily, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. No extra fee.
  • As an added advantage, you will pay your home-stay family directly. Unlike many other institutions, we charge no home-stay placement fee or hidden commissions for this service. Please bring the necessary cash or traveler's checks to exchange for cash.
  • Since our courses are designed to be taken by one week programs, you may attend our Spanish classes from as little as one week, to as long as desired. Please note that after paying your registration fee you do not have to pay this fee again when returning.
  • You will be able to take advantage of additional discounts if you take more than four weeks of classes. In order to receive the tuition discount you must cover your full tuition on your first day of classes.
